- Companies whose main activity is running music prizes or competitions, now in their fifth edition or later
- Events held in Italy, Vatican City or San Marino within the period set by the call
- Public bodies and organisers of linked competitions are excluded
- The winning artist is emerging, with 30 or fewer published recordings, and a NUOVOIMAIE member
