How to get feedback on your mix, in words
English
Open Track feedback, drop your track, pick its genres and read the notes, most important first. Each note says what it heard, where, and one way to change it, and opens the tool that fixes it on the same song. It runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
1. Bring the track in
- Drop a file: WAV, MP3, FLAC, AIFF or M4A. A bounce of the whole track reads best.
- Or record it from your DAW: press Record your DAW, share your screen or the tab with its audio (tick "Share audio" in the browser's picker), play the track, then Stop and read it.
- On a Mac, browsers can't capture system audio. Send your DAW's output to a virtual audio device, then pick Record an input from the chevron beside Record.
- Already in Aden: open a version's … menu and pick Track feedback. A note's time plays that version from there.
2. Check the genres
The tool guesses the genres from the tempo, where the snare or clap lands, how the bass pumps and the balance, and marks them Guessed. Change them in the picker:
- Pick several when the track mixes styles. A reading passes when it is usual in any of them.
- Pick Any genre for experimental work: only clipping, phase and clashing keys get a note.
3. Read the notes
Notes come most important first. Open one to see its reading against the genre and where it happens, and press its time to hear that moment. A note you meant: press ✓ to keep it as intended. It leaves the list, and Show kept notes brings it back.
Switch views when a picture says it better:
| View | Shows |
|---|---|
| Notes | What to change, in words |
| Map | Each lane over the bars: warm cells are worth a listen |
| Range | Every reading against the genre's range, and the tone curve |
| Master | The mastering chain for this track, in order |
| 3D | The spectrum over time, to turn and press |
4. Fix it where it lives
Open a note and use the tool beside it:
- Clap, snare, kick, hi-hat: the drum's tool takes that drum out of your song, to shape a better one and drag it into your DAW.
- Key clash: Edit notes opens the stretch in the note editor, to move its notes or turn minor into major.
- Loudness: the Loudness check opens with your track.
- Balance: Mix vs reference holds your mix up to a released song, level-matched.
Then bounce again, or record again, and read the new version. Save as track takes the song into Aden with your own notes as comments, each at its moment.
5. Master it
When the mix is right, open Master. It lists the steps in order (clean the lows, shape the tone, glue, width, sheen, clip, limit) with settings for your track. Steps marked optional are the usual light touch; the others are what your track asks for.
6. Tell us when a note is wrong
Thumbs up or down under an open note. The votes show which notes hold up in which genres, and that is how the ranges improve.
For labels and teams reviewing demos
In the Aden demo inbox, a demo's menu has Write feedback (declining one offers it too). It reads an uploaded demo the same way. Pick the genres, add your own notes, and Save and copy link. Send the artist the link; a sender without an Aden account also gets it in the decline mail. When the demo came from the artist's own Aden track, the button reads Send to the artist and your notes land on that track as comments, each at its moment. They open it on tools.aden.space with your notes on top, and can save the song to Aden to keep working. A demo that is only a link has no file to read, so ask for the file.
